Denby High School Celebrates Newest National Honor Society Inductees

Detroit, MI — Last night, Denby High School proudly welcomed a new group of student leaders into the prestigious National Honor Society (NHS), honoring their commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The ceremony brought together families, faculty, and community supporters to celebrate the hard work and dedication of these exceptional Tars. The evening opened with a warm welcome from school leadership, who highlighted the significance of the NHS as one of the nation’s most respected student organizations.

Students took part in the traditional candle-lighting ceremony, with each candle representing one of the four pillars of the National Honor Society. As each light illuminated the room, speakers shared reflections on what it means to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and strive for academic excellence at Denby.

Inductees recited the NHS pledge, committing themselves to upholding the highest standards in the classroom, in the school community, and beyond. Parents and guardians in attendance proudly watched as their students received certificates marking their official induction.

Staff members emphasized that these students have consistently demonstrated academic responsibility, positive citizenship, and a deep commitment to representing Denby with honor. Many of the new inductees have also taken part in extracurricular activities, community service projects, and leadership roles throughout the school year.

The ceremony concluded with a reception where inductees and their families celebrated this milestone achievement.
